AI citation tracker: the sources AI answers link to
AI Rankia tracks the URLs each search-enabled engine cites for the questions you follow, ranked by domain and page, and Get Cited tells you which of those sites mention your brand. New to the idea? Read What are AI citations and why do they matter.
817,799 AI citations, counted
Aggregate, anonymous numbers from the prompts tracked on AI Rankia. They describe our sample, not the whole web.
The 8 engines: ChatGPT Search, GPT-5 Web Search, Claude Search, Gemini Search, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Grok Search and Perplexity. Each tracked question runs on 4.8 AI models on average, across 2,078 questions.
How the sources are tracked
Each question runs on several engines, so you compare what each one cites, not a single answer.
You track questions
The questions buyers ask in your category, on the engines your plan includes.
Every cited URL is saved
For engines that search the web, each run stores every source URL with the engine that cited it.
Get Cited reads the pages
For each cited domain it reads the first page it can open and looks for your brand name. The top domains are checked when you open the Command Center, the rest on demand.
Your brand name in the answer text.
A link the answer shows as its source, inline or in a sources list.
The two don't move together, so we track them apart.
Who AI trusts, and whether they name you
Content Strategist and the citation overview below use a 30-day window; the map at the top uses 90 days. Different windows on purpose, so don’t compare their totals.
What kind of page AI cites, and how many are yours
The cited pages grouped by format and by publisher, with your share of the citations and your most cited page.
- The format AI cites most in your market
- Your citations and your cited pages, as a share of all
- Who publishes the winners: media, video, forums

Do the cited sites mention you?
Get Cited shows the snippet where your brand appears and one number: cited sources that mention you, divided by sources scanned.
- Your own site vs. everyone else: how often AI cites your own site
- The same check for any tracked competitor, from the same view
- Windows of 7, 30 or 90 days, or all time

Turn the list into a pitch list
Each domain shows authority (Common Crawl), traffic and the models that cited it. Find editorial or commercial contacts and draft a pitch about a specific URL.
- Publications AI cites for your prompts that don’t mention you yet
- Who wins on each one today

What this data can't tell you
A sample, not a census. We see answers to the prompts you track, asked from our side. Real users’ answers vary, and we have no consumer prompt-volume data.
Only engines that search the web give sources. A model that doesn’t browse can still mention you, but adds no URLs.
A citation is not a click. We record that a URL was shown, not whether anyone opened it. Clicks live in your analytics.
The mention check reads one page per domain. Get Cited tries up to 3 of a domain’s cited URLs, reads the first one it can open and applies that result to the whole domain. A mention on another page of the same site can be missed.
Not every domain is checked at once, and text can be reused. The top cited domains are checked when you open the Command Center; the rest when you press Scan. A full rescan skips domains checked in the last 30 days; a manual Scan rechecks right away, and page text up to 14 days old can be reused. Mentions behind a login, in video or in images are missed.
One run is an anecdote. Sources change between runs. Read 30 or 90 days.
Credits. Tracking spends none. In Get Cited, finding contacts and generating or sending a pitch do.

How to read the list
Split every cited URL in three. Get Cited does it for you: Brand website, Mentioned, Not mentioned.
Your own pages AI cites. Keep them current.
Other sites that already name you.
Cited, but silent about you: your outreach list. Pitch the author.
Our own brand in Get Cited, captured Oct 10, 2026: URL counts from the 30-day citation overview; the three domains from the Command Center, among the sources AI cites for our prompts that don't mention us yet.
- Start with domains, then open the pages. Domains show who AI trusts. The URL is what you act on.
- Filter by engine before comparing periods. Google AI Mode produced 42% of all citations in our index (AI Rankia index, 13 Oct 2025 – 8 Oct 2026). If the engine mix changes, totals change with it.
- Trust trends, not single runs. A domain seen once is noise. One that keeps climbing over 30 or 90 days is worth a call.
