Shopify MCP for your store's blog, from Claude or ChatGPT
Shopify's own connector lets you run your store from Claude or ChatGPT. Ours is built for the blog: write articles from your topical map, publish them with SEO fields, fix them live, and add schema once it is built for the live URL.
Publish the cold brew grinder guide to our Shopify blog.

It will go live on your Shopify blog, not as a draft. Publish?
Yes, publish it.

From the chat to /blogs/ on your store
The store is connected once in Content Hub. The MCP never calls Shopify itself: it asks Content Hub, which publishes with the store credentials saved there.
Connect the store once
In Content Hub settings: a custom app from your Dev Dashboard, then pick the blog. Publishing needs only read_content and write_content.
Write and review
Articles are written from your topical map and stop at draft unless you ask otherwise. Writing uses credits and needs confirm=true.
ct_write_pagesPublish with a preview
The first call only says where it would go. Nothing goes live until you confirm.
ct_publish
Everything here is blog content
A real Shopify article, not an embed
Content Hub creates the article in your store's own blog through Shopify's Admin GraphQL API. Publishing again updates the same article.
- Title, body, summary, handle; author and cover image on first publish
- SEO title and meta description in Shopify's
title_taganddescription_tagfields - Published, not drafted: Shopify publishing has no draft mode here
What one publish writes
Top row: written on publish (1 first publish only; republishing doesn't resend them). Bottom row: never touched by publishing.
read_content write_contentSchema that doesn't fight your theme
Shopify themes typically print their own Article and Organization markup, so we add only the types a theme usually doesn't, inside the article body. It comes from our Schema Enhancer, which reads the live URL: a new article goes out without it; the next publish or fix carries it.

- Blog articles only.
No tool reads or edits products, collections, orders, customers, discounts or your theme.
- No drafts on Shopify.
ct_publish puts the article live. Keep it as a draft in Content Hub until you want it public.
- Editing is not republishing.
ct_article_edit changes the Content Hub copy only. The store keeps the old text until you publish again or run ct_article_fix, which sends pending edits too.
- One destination per brand.
WordPress or Shopify, never both, so the same article never lives on two domains.
- Schema arrives on a later publish.
ct_schema_publish is WordPress only. On Shopify, schema joins the body on the next publish or fix after ct_schema_write and ct_schema_save run on the live URL.
Shopify's tools and ours: who does what
Shopify's connector for Claude and ChatGPT manages products and discounts, looks up orders, and reaches blogs through generic Admin API calls. Its MCP servers cover shopping agents, buyers and developers. In the admin, Sidekick drafts a blog post's title and body from your prompt (Shopify Help Center, read Oct 13, 2026). None of them writes from a topical map, adds schema or tracks AI answers.

Shopify's Dev MCP runs locally, knows Shopify's APIs and validates GraphQL and Liquid (Shopify).
Questions people ask
Does Shopify have an official MCP server?
/api/mcp, the Customer Accounts MCP, and the Dev MCP inside the Shopify AI Toolkit (Shopify). What happened to Shopify Storefront MCP?
https://{shop}/api/mcp. They now live in the Universal Commerce Protocol at /api/ucp/mcp, which needs an agent profile on every request (Shopify). Can an MCP publish blog posts to Shopify?
ct_publish once your store is connected in Content Hub. It previews first and publishes only with confirm=true. Shopify's own connector for Claude and ChatGPT can also change blogs, through a generic Admin API action (graphql_mutation) that asks you to confirm; it has no dedicated article action (Shopify). Developers can send articleCreate with shopify store execute (Shopify). What ours adds: articles written from your topical map, SEO title and description fields, schema that skips your theme's own types (added on the publish or fix after the Schema Enhancer has run on the live URL), linked translations, live fixes that need a source for new numbers, and tracking of how AI answers name you.Do I need a Shopify app or API token?
