Questions people ask
Does ChatGPT have ads?
Yes. OpenAI started testing them in the United States on February 9, 2026, and is rolling them out to more regions. They appear below a response, labeled sponsored, for adults on Free and Go. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, Edu and Temporary Chats get none (OpenAI Help Center).
How do I advertise on ChatGPT?
In OpenAI Ads Manager (ads.openai.com): a campaign (objective, budget, dates), ad groups with context hints, and ads (title, copy, image, landing page) that go through review (quickstart). Hints aren't exact-match keywords and don't guarantee delivery (OpenAI). Self-service depends on the billed entity's country; the US, Canada, the UK, Mexico and Spain are on the list (availability).
How much do ChatGPT ads cost?
No fixed price. OpenAI runs a relevance-weighted, second-price auction: a maximum CPM bid for Reach campaigns or a maximum CPC bid for Clicks campaigns, where it recommends starting at $3–$5 per click (OpenAI).
What is OpenAI Ads Manager?
OpenAI's campaign tool, labeled Beta. It reports impressions, clicks, spend, CTR, average CPC and CPM, plus conversions if you set up measurement. Impressions and clicks refresh about every 15 minutes; spend can lag 7–8 hours (OpenAI). It only shows your own campaigns.
Is there a ChatGPT ads library?
Not from OpenAI, as far as we found in its Help Center on October 9, 2026. Independent ones built by observing ChatGPT exist: ours (in the app, and the public ChatGPT ads library) and LLM Pulse's. Each only holds what its owner's captures saw.
Do ads change what ChatGPT recommends?
OpenAI says no: ads run on separate systems, and advertisers can't shape, rank or change ChatGPT's responses (OpenAI). The answer and the ad slot are two separate jobs.
