Google Analytics MCP: ask GA4 from your AI chat
Add one URL as a connector and Claude reads your GA4 live: reports, realtime, key events, AI referral traffic. Read only, no Python or Cloud project.

Plain questions. The model picks the tool, the metrics and the dates.
What each tool takes, and what it returns
From our server code. Report and property tools and ak_analytics take domain to pick a brand; ak_search_console takes site_url. For AI traffic, filter sessionSource by chatgpt, perplexity or gemini.
Reports

batch_run_reports- up to 5 reports, no filter→the rows of each
run_pivot_report- row × column dimension (50 × 10), metrics, one range, no filter→rows split by both, e.g. landingPage × deviceCategory
run_realtime_report- activeUsers, screenPageViews, eventCount, keyEvents by unifiedScreenName, country, city, deviceCategory, minutesAgo→the last 30 minutes
Before a report
get_metadata- →every dimension and metric the property supports, custom ones included
check_compatibility- metrics, dimensions→whether they fit in one report

Google’s server, its undocumented endpoint, and the hosted ones
Google documents one Analytics MCP, a server you run locally. Its endpoint at analyticsdata.googleapis.com/mcp/v1 answers but is unannounced: not in Google’s MCP list, reference page 404 (Oct 13, 2026). Coupler.io and Composio host GA4 connectors too.

Checked on on each vendor's public pages and docs. ✗ means we did not find it advertised on that date, not that it does not exist.
Google local: the 9 tools its coordinator.py registers (main, Oct 2, 2026), two more than its README. Google remote, undocumented: its tools/list on Oct 13, 2026 gave four read-only tools (run_report, get_metadata, run_realtime_report, check_compatibility); without a token they return “Expected OAuth 2 access token”. Ours: our code.

- Coupler.io
- Browser setup, “no command line”. Answers from a synced copy (daily on Starter, hourly on Pro), predefined fields. Free plan with manual refresh; Starter $32/mo, $24 yearly.
- Composio
- Managed Google OAuth app. 67 Google Analytics tools, writes included (Update Property, Send Events). Free Hobby plan: up to 20,000 calls a month on managed apps like GA4; Pro $29/mo.
- Pick Google’s local server if
you can run gcloud and pipx: funnels, conversions, any filter, several ranges, free. The remote endpoint may change.
- Pick Coupler.io or Composio if
GA4 is one of many apps in your chat: Coupler for synced data, Composio if the agent should also change GA4.
- Pick ours if
you want one AI Rankia account: each brand’s GA4 property, Search Console and AI visibility in one chat, and the 18 tools above.
What it can’t do
- One GA4 property per brand.
The one chosen for that brand. With several brands, pass the domain; ga4_brands lists the exact ones.
- It reads, it never writes.
No tool creates or edits key events, audiences or users; the ga4_connect link asks Google for analytics.readonly only.
- One date range, one simple filter.
One date range and one “contains” filter on a dimension; no metric filters or offset. To compare periods the model calls twice.
- Only what GA4 recorded.
If a visit arrives without a referrer, GA4 can’t tie it to an AI app, and neither can we.
Questions people ask
Is there an official Google Analytics MCP server?
analyticsdata.googleapis.com/mcp/v1, answers with four read-only tools, but it isn’t in Google’s MCP product list and its reference page returns 404.Can a GA4 MCP change my Analytics settings?
ga4_connect link asks Google for the analytics.readonly scope only.Which metrics and dimensions can I ask for?
sessions, totalUsers, newUsers, screenPageViews, keyEvents, engagementRate, averageSessionDuration and totalRevenue, by date, country, deviceCategory, pagePath, landingPage, sessionSource, sessionMedium or sessionDefaultChannelGrouping. If the model is unsure, get_metadata lists them all and check_compatibility says whether two can share a report. How do I see traffic from ChatGPT in GA4?
